Hello guy’s ! How are you?… I know you are fine. Today we want to discuss different topics. I’m know you are an engineer. the information that I am going to give your about this instruments.
What is Instruments ?
Instrument is a device which a parameter or process and translate into format which can be easily interpreated by observers.
a) According to method of contact.
1) Contact type instrument :-
Contact type instrument are those which makes physical contact with quantity to the measured.
E. g 1) thermometer.
2) micrometer.
2) Non – contact type instrument :-
Non – contact type those does not which makes physical contact instrument with quantity to the measured.
eg- 1) optical parameter.
2) Radiation Parameter.
3) contact less tachometer.
Classification of instrument :-
b) According to mode of operation.
1) manual operated instrument : –
This instrument requires service of operator for their operation.
Ex. Temperature, measurement by (RTD)
2) Automatic operated instrument :-
This instrument does not require service at an operator for them operation.
Ex. Temp Measurement by liquid in glass thermometer.
c) According to source of energy :-
1) Self operated instrument / Active instrument :-
This instrument does not required operation energy / Power source for their operation.
Ex. Bordon tube pressure gauge.
2) passive instrument :-
These instrument required external energy for their operation.
E.x.LVDT, Potentiometer.
d) According to arrangement of Physical part :-
1) Self contained instrument:-
These instrument contain Hole arrangement of their physical finish part of including display unit as one place.
Ex. Bordon, tube pressure gauge, to thermometer.
2) Remote indicating Instrument :-
In these type of instrument primary sensing instrument element located of from secondary indicating element.
Ex. Speedometer, fuel gauge.
e) According to output display :-
1) Null type instrument :-
In this type of instrument the deflection
is made zero by applying an effect opposite that generated by measured quantity.
Ex. Pan balance / Platform balance.
2) Deflection type instrument :-
In this type me done measurement done by related displacement between pointer & scale.
Ex. Tachometer ,Speedometer.
f) According to output signal :-
1) Analog instrument :-
These Instrument have analog output.
Ex. Bordon tube pressure gauge.
2] Digital instrument :-
These instrument have digital output.
Ex. Digital voltmeter.
